Sizing on Bariatric Diapers and Pullups

Kathleen Van Vliet

Do you really need a tabbed diaper or pull up in the 2XL + range?  We've spoken to literally thousands of people over the last 25 years about the sizing on their protective undergarments and have noticed one thing: many times they don't need the 2XL, 3XL, or 4/5XL size that they think they do.

One of the biggest misconceptions that people have about sizing is that the size of the briefs or pullups is comparable to the size of pants that they wear.  IT'S NOT THE SAME.

For instance, a 2XL size in women's pants fits a waist/hip size of about 42". The waist or hip size of a 2XL pullup ranges from 62" to 80".  That's a huge difference!  Customers will order a 2XL online without reading the description and then are amazed at how big the garment actually is.

We have people call in every day that think they need a 2XL, 3XL or more because of their pant size.  We're always very glad that they called and asked because we can let them know that the actual size they need may be much smaller, an Xlarge or even a Large.

If you ever have a question on what size should fit you or the person you're caring for, please contact us for help.  You can call or email us and we'll be happy to help you avoid having to return an order because the size wasn't a good fit.
